DESPISED ICON
Инфоррмация о группе:
The Montreal death metalcore six-piece DESPISED ICON was formed in January 2002 by members of Neuraxis, In Dying Days and Heaven’s Cry. The group’s first album, Consumed By Your Poison, was released in October 2002 on Galy Records and quickly sent shockwaves throughout the underground metal community. From that moment on, the DI crew played countless shows, unleashing its brutal mixture of death metal and metalcore until it suffered a loss by the middle of 2003.
After catching people's attention with 2005's acclaimed The Healing Process, the Montreal-based death/grindcore six-piece DESPISED ICON have upped the ante with The Ills of Modern Man, a savage and uncompromising yet dynamic new effort that is sure to resonate throughout the genre for years to come. Each track on this album pummels the listener with sheer aggressiveness backed with impeccable time changes, scathing blast beats and devastating breakdown assaults. These Canadians walk a fine line between the death metal and grindcore genres, resulting in an exciting juxtaposition that will leave all fans of extreme music begging for more.
Alex Erian (vocals) states: "This is as tight as we could possibly get. Some of the parts on this record are faster then anything we've done in the past. Expect more blastbeats and gravity blasts! We've drilled holes in our heads and came up with loads of inventive breakdowns. I know this is the type of stuff that all bands say, but trust me, you won't be disappointed.?
In early 2007, DESPISED ICON recorded their highly anticipated sophomore Century Media release with acclaimed producer/former guitarist Yannick St-Amand (Beneath The Massacre, Ion Dissonance, Neuraxis), which was then mixed by the renowned Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Opeth). The group was clearly determined to deliver an album that will leave people astonished, as they further establish their position as one of the genre's most devastating new acts. They kicked off The Ills of Modern Man touring cycle with a sold-out North Amercian tour as direct support to Job For A Cowboy, which also marked the first appearance of their new guitarist Al Glassman (Goratory, ex-Burn In Silence).
This trek was immediately followed by their first European tour alongside Unearth and Job For A Cowboy. The group returns to the U.S. on tour alongside The Red Chord and Through The Eyes of The Dead this summer with a slew of major activity to follow throughout the remainder of the year.

DESPISED ICON's highly anticipated sophomore release, The Healing Process, was produced by St-Amand, mixed by J-F Dagenais (Misery Index, Kataklysm) and mastered by Alan Douches (Shadows Fall, Dillinger Escape Plan).
